How the Sterilisation Process Works

Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sterilisation is a widely used low-temperature process that eliminates microorganisms from heat- and moisture-sensitive products. The process involves exposing items to ethylene oxide gas within a sealed chamber under controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, pressure, and exposure time. ETO penetrates packaging and complex materials, disrupting microbial DNA and preventing reproduction, effectively sterilising the product. After exposure, a controlled aeration phase removes any residual gas to ensure product safety.
